Now available: Port KY River Cards! Free while supplies last at Sea Ray of Louisville, Marine Sales & Service and Harrod's Creek Marine Supply.

Great to keep in the chart holder as a quick reference. What mile marker are you? Who can we call for help? Where are the restaurants? Do I have all my gear to be legal? It's all there!

Newsflash!

The LMPD is fully in support of efforts to make the area on the KY side of Twelve Mile Island a "Special Anchorage" no wake zone. You may recall that 1999 efforts came close, but were unsuccessful. Under the current process, Roger Williams (e-mail) is gathering supporting letters and e-mails, then forwarding them to LMPD Sgt. Lawrence Glaser. He, in turn, will deliver the supporting information to the KY Fish and Wildlife Commission for review and determination. While they expect good news, they still need your support.

For starters, please take a minute to write to Roger Williams explaining your support. You can use the letter below as a starting point. Additionally, the LMPD will solicit additional funds for the bouys that will be put in place. They will eventually need our support there, too.

Dear Mr. Williams,

I am a Louisville area boater, and am writing in support of establishing a "No-Wake" special anchorage zone on the Kentucky side of Twelve Mile Island.

There aren't very many places to anchor, and this would provide a safe haven for our boaters to anchor without the worry of boats passing on at high speed or creating large wakes.

Thank you,

(NAME)
