New For February: America's Boating
Course
- Who: Louisville Sail and Power Squadron
- What: America's Boating Course
- When: Monday, February 1, 2010 for 5 weeks. 7-9
PM each night
- Registration 6:30 - 7:00, Feb 1
- Where: Harrods Creek Fire Department, 8905 US
Highway 42, Prospect, KY
- Cost: $50 for Textbook including
2 CDs (families may share)
United States Power Squadron certified instructors
introduce students to all aspects of boating from hull
types and safety requirements to rules of the road
and the proper use of marine radios. An optional fifth
class week includes an overview of charts and piloting.
Course materials include textbook, student CD, and
Maptech Charting software. Successful completion of
the course meets both Kentucky and Indiana boating
license requirements.
The United States Power Squadron is America's largest
non-profit boating organization dedicated to safe boating
through education. The Louisville Sail and Power Squadron
was chartered in 1959 as a unit of the United States
Power Squadron. LSPS promotes safe boating through
education, civic service and fraternal activities.
